GuideStar Launches Organization Download and People Search

GuideStar Premium 2.0 enhances highest level of service
Release date: August 23, 2007
Williamsburg, Va., and Washington, D.C.—GuideStar, the leading provider of nonprofit information, has launched GuideStar Premium 2.0, adding an organization download and a people search to its highest level of service.

Organization download. GuideStar Premium 2.0 gives subscribers the ability to download nonprofit information directly from the GuideStar database into an Excel compatible file. Users can choose up to 17 fields—including organization address, National Taxonomy of Exempt Entities (NTEE) code, total revenue, and total expenses—and download up to 5,000 records a month.

People search. GuideStar Premium 2.0 enables subscribers to find individuals by name in GuideStar's database of more than 3.3 million nonprofit officers and employees. Users can learn which nonprofit(s) a person is associated with, his or her title(s), and the compensation he or she receives. The people search also allows subscribers to identify relationships between organizations.

"We asked our users what we could do to improve their experience on GuideStar," stated Bob Ottenhoff, GuideStar's president and CEO. "The ability to download information from our site and the capability to search for individuals by name topped their lists. We are pleased to add these two new features to help GuideStar Premium users create more precise analyses, develop more informative reports, craft more effective presentations, and perform more informative research."

All GuideStar Premium subscribers will receive the upgrade at no additional cost, and the price for new subscribers remains $100 a month or $1,000 a year.
